The winners of our Youth Challenge competition 2019 – Jasmine Canham; Abhainn & Oliver Cross – will perform on Friday night of the festival. At sixteen years old, Jasmine is a young and upcoming singer from Suffolk who is starting to make her mark on the local music industry. As a writer, she takes inspiration from pop, folk and even dark cabaret, and she enjoys creating lyrics with a story behind them. Abhainn (pictured) comprises James, Emily, Isla, Emma & Catherine who all met at Cambridge Comhaltas, where they play traditional Irish music; & they are all competing at the Midland Regional Fleadh in a few weeks time. Isla is an Irish dancer, and can start a quick jig during a set! Oliver is a harmonica virtuoso and an accomplished singer of English Folk songs. He regularly performs with the London Paraorchestra, has recently played at the Barbican and is a regular at the Black Fenfolk club in Cambridge.
