What a great start to Ely Folk Festival 2024 on Friday! It was great to see folk on the ceilidh dance floor right to the end in the wee small hours this morning. Concerts on the Peregrine stage and Kingfisher stage kick off at 12.00 today with a wonderful line-up including Hannah Sanders & Ben Savage, The Shackleton Trio, Guise and John Kirkpatrick. The family ceilidh with KEGS will start about 15.15; and all through the day workshops will run on in Nightingale marquee – an opportunity to take part in guitar, whistle, song-writing, and dance workshops whether you are a novice or want to finesse your skills. Evening concerts start at 18.15 and the line-up includes Rory McLeod, Morganway, Wilswood Buoys, O’Hooley & Tidow & Peatbog Faeries. Nightingale marquee will host open stage and song & tune sessions. Lots for younger visitors to do as well with a packed schedule of kids activities including Tai Chi Kung-Fu Fusion, story telling, crafts and singing & percussion workshops.
