Music, lights, laughter, fun….sum up Saturday at Ely Folk Festival 2021. The sun shone on chilled out audiences in front of the two outdoor stages listening to the best of British folk & roots music. There was an air of expectation – both on the audience’s and performers’ parts as this festival feeling has has been a long time coming. From the bluegrass sounds of Midnight Skyracer, the haunting blues of Rodney Branigan, the humour and music for our tines of The Young’uns, to the stamp your feet exuberance of Noble Jacks, and Trials of Cato – the music line-up was a triumph. And there’s more great music today culminating in Show of Hands closing the festival tonight. If you’d like to soak up the festival vibe, there are some tickets left for Sunday at the box office on the festival site – £46 for a adult ticket.
