Show of Hands have unequivocally become one of the leading forces in British folk. Steve Knightley and Phil Beer are respectively recognised as one of the UK’s best singer songwriters and one of its finest multi instrumentalists. Without frills or fanfares they have carved a unique niche built on a carefully constructed cottage industry and become one of the most in-demand bands on the circuit. Long-term collaborator and bass & vocal queen Miranda Sykes has now returned from her recent sabbatical, and there’s more, as the trio has expanded to include master percussionist Cormac Byrne with his blistering additions to the line-up. There’s no doubt that Show of Hands the four-piece, now something of a supergroup, and their combined musicianship is guaranteed to sound nothing short of magical. Show of Hands will finish off our Sunday evening concert in marquee 1. We are delighted that Cormac will run a bodhran workshop over the weekend – if you would like a taste of it now, have a look at his live facebook 60 minute free bodhrán lesson which raised funds for the Irish Cancer Society. You can find it at the Cormac Byrne Percussion facebook page or from this link:
