Rusty Shackle is a vibrant six-piece folk rock band based in Wales. Band members are Liam Collins, Mathew Barwick, George Barrell, Ryan Williams and brothers Scott McKeon and James McKeon. Combining guitars, fiddle, banjo, mandola, trumpet & percussion, Rusty Shackle is influenced by bluegrass, folk, rock, Celtic and old time blues music. With heartfelt lyrics, infectious melodies, and exhilarating live shows, they have carved their mark in the music world. FATEA described their latest album Under a Bloodshot Moon as “a joyful shot in the arm of exciting and engaging music from a truly entertaining band”. Ely Folk Festival has great reason to follow the steady rise of this great band, since as winners of our 2015 festival band competition, we introduced the infectious sounds of Rusty Shackle to an Ely and wider folk audience; and we’re thrilled to host them again this year when they perform on the Peregrine stage on Sunday evening.
