Robin Gillan has been active on the folk scene for over two decades and is now beginning to gain wider recognition. His music reflects timeless old field recordings of the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s and early commercial country recordings from the 1920’s. Described as a polymath musician, Robin delivers songs with power and sensitivity. His fiddle playing conjures backwoods mountain scenes and soft rainy pastures. Equally adept at 5 string banjo, fiddle, harmonica, guitar and melodeon, Robin draws from the music of the British Isles and the USA. His playing has rawness, balanced by technical ability, producing an archaic sound rarely achieved in the 21st century. Robin will perform on Saturday afternoon.
