After 20 years of being located at the Ely Outdoor Centre, Ely Folk Festival is seeking a new home as planned investment in the football pitches used by the festival means that they are no longer available for us to use for the weekend event.
We’ve been searching for a new home for the festival in the vicinity of Ely. Our preferred location is a site located a few miles to the southeast of Ely known as the Stuntney Estate. The site comprises a couple of large fields accessed off the A142 Soham Road. We have submitted a licensing application to East Cambridgeshire District Council to operate the festival on this site, and hopefully a decision will be made on the application soon.
We hope to open the box office for the 2022 festival (8-10 July) in late February and have been working on a fabulous line-up including Lindisfarne, Heidi Talbot & Boo Hewerdine, Holy Moly, Sheringham Shantymen & Big Joe Bone. More details about the 2022 festival and how to buy tickets will be available soon.
In the meantime – calling amateur folk & roots musicians – we’re delighted to launch our 2022 Festival Band Competition & Youth Challenge Competition. Details on how to enter can be found here https://elyfolkfestival.co.uk/workshops-competitions/
