Maisie Blades is made up of four musicians who share a love for music that perhaps can best be described as Transatlantic – a rich mix of ingredients, including American traditional and bluegrass tunes, country, folk, blues, and Celtic fiddle pieces. Maisie Blades are: Karen Macwhinnie, a Scot, comes from a background of singing jazz, blues and Americana; Philip Rundall played guitar in several Cambridge bands before taking up playing bluegrass guitar and mandolin fiddle tunes; Mike Thompson, a guitarist originally from North Carolina and a fellow academic; Denise Neapolitan, originally from Chicago, plays fiddle and sings. Maisie Blades will perform their brand of transatlantic music on Sunday afternoon.
