Getting to Ely Folk Festival
Ely Folk Festival takes place in the lovely rural setting of Stuntney Estate – Soham Road (A142), Ely CB7 5TR (adjacent to Ben’s Yard). It is a 5-10 minute car drive and a 50 minute walk from Ely city centre via the footpath that runs through Stuntney village – see google maps

Free Shuttle Bus
A free shuttle bus connects the festival site, city centre and rail station over the festival weekend. The shuttle bus will operate approximately every 30 minutes between the festival site, rail station (drop off / pick up at bus layby on Station Road – located on the left when you leave the station car park onto Station Road) and city centre (drop off / pick up at coach parking bay along The Gallery near the entrance to the cathedral). Buses will run at the following times with first pick up from the Station Road layby near the rail station: Friday 12.30 to 00.30 ; Saturday 10.00 to 00.30 ; Sunday 10.30 to 00.30; on Monday a bus will leave the festival site at 10.00 and 12.00 and drop off at Ely rail station and the city centre.
Arriving by Car
The postcode for the festival location is CB7 5TR; and the What 3 Words to use are: headlight.blip.courage. The festival site is located approximately 1 mile south of Ely on the east side of the A142 Soham Road. Use the same entrance as Ben’s Yard and follow signs to the festival area.
On arrival
Follow directions from our gate stewards. Let them know whether you have pre-booked camping or are a day visitor and they will direct you to the campsites if you have pre-booked a pitch so you can set up your tent or caravan, car parks on Lavender or Apricot Fields, or the festival Box Office to collect your wristband if you have pre-ordered your tickets or wish to purchase tickets. Note that this year we will be scanning pre-ordered tickets at the box office, so please have your e-tickets ready for scanning or a printed copy of your e-tickets.
Parking on the festival site
Free parking is available on the festival site for weekend and day ticket holders.
A carpark for people with mobility issues and blue badge holders is available; please show your blue badge to our stewards on the gate and they will direct you to the parking area.
Train
If you come to Ely by train, the free festival shuttle bus will make regular trips between the festival site, city centre and train station. When you arrive at the rail station, turn right out of the station ticket hall entrance, walk to the end of the carpark to Station Road and turn left – festival buses will pick up from the lay-by there. The shuttle bus will operate between the festival site and city centre approximately every 30 minutes (and to/from the station on Friday and by request at other times). Buses will run at the following times: Friday 14.00 to 00.30 ; Saturday 09.30 to 00.30 ; Sunday 10.00 to 23.30. Train timetables are available here – The Trainline
Car Sharing
For those of you who can’t make it by bus, or who are coming from further afield, there is solution… car chare schemes …sharing will allow you to find fun people to share the journey with whilst sharing the cost of travel and minimising the effect on the environment. There are a number of car share schemes out there such as liftshare.com
