GoCarShare
For those of you who can’t make it by bus, or who are coming from further afield, there is solution… GoCarShare – Car Sharing Made Fun Car sharing will allow you to find fun people to share the journey with whilst sharing the cost of travel and minimising the effect on the environment.
The process is simple … you log in via facebook; if you are planning on driving, just post a car share request to Ely with any specifics such as the contribution you need for petrol, and then sit back and wait for someone to contact you about sharing a lift.
Accessibility
The new site for Ely Folk Festival comprises a couple of gently sloping fields. The fields are used crop growing (when the festival is not there) and weather conditions will affect the overall state of the ground. This is particularly important for wheelchair users and those with mobility problems. The festival site is a 5 – 10 minute car drive and a 30 – 40 minute walk from Ely city centre. A free shuttle bus connects the festival site, city centre (drop off / pick up in coach parking bay along The Galley next to the cathedral) and rail station over the festival weekend – buses will have capacity to accommodate one wheelchair). An area for blue badge car parking will be made available on the festival site – spaces in this cannot be reserved in advance.
Accessible Camping
We provide convenient reserved camping pitches for people with disabilities. Once you have booked your festival ticket, please phone 07500 527334 to reserve a disabled camping space on the festival site – you’ll need to have your booking reference available. You can also let us know about any special assistance you may require over the festival weekend then.
