We couldn’t celebrate 40 years of Ely Folk Festival Folk without inviting back one of our most favourite performers – Gerry Colvin. Gerry is one of the most endearing and energetic performers around, equally at home in intimate clubs or supporting Status Quo. A multi-talented singer-songwriter, he performs all his own material, blending irresistible melodies with thoughtful, witty lyrics exploring love, society, angst—and even Johnny Cash. Gerry’s musical CV includes co-founding and fronting the legendary John Peel favourite skiffle-cowpunk indie outfit ‘Terry & Gerry”; working in Nashville as a professional songwriter; collaborating with Alison Moyet; writing for TV themes, musicals, film scores; and making regular appearances at Glastonbury. “Gerry Colvin is a writer of great substance—unique and unforgettable.
