Describing herself simply as a “modern English musician”, Eliza Carthy herself is one of the most recognisable faces of the English folk revival. The daughter of a folk dynasty (her father is Martin Carthy and her mother Norma Waterson), twice nominated for the Mercury Prize, winner of number BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and with an MBE for services to folk, Eliza has performed with artists including, Paul Weller and Rufus Wainwright. Eliza will be joined by Saul Rose, founder member of Eliza Carthy and The Wayward Band, and musician and composer David Delarre.
‘Conversations we’ve had before’ is the first album that Eliza, Saul and David have recorded as a trio and was released initially as a Limited Edition CD in summer 2020. It features a selection of traditional songs and tunes that they have all played together, but never before recorded.
