There are two ways that you can send us information about yourself on this website, one is by signing up to our email newsletter, the other is by applying to be a volunteer steward at the festival. We may collect the following information from our potential stewards form and email newsletter signup:

  • demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • Information relevant to stewarding duties at Ely Folk Festival
  • other information relevant to your preferences for stewarding duties

What we do with the information we gather

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • to manage our email newsletter list
  • to choose and assign potential volunteer stewards at the festival
  • Internal record keeping.
  • We may use the information to improve our products and services.

E.g. if you tell us on your steward’s application form that you have a particular medical condition which could affect you at the festival, we may ask your permission to advise the first aid providers about your condition to ensure that they have appropriate expertise/equipment to assist you over the weekend if necessarry.
