Friday night preview

tom-figgins-introducing-300x300  With a week to go until Ely Folk Festival opens, a reminder of what is happening on the festival site on Friday 8 July. The concert on main stage in marquee 1 will be opened by this year’s Festival Band Competition winner Georgia Lewis and Friends, followed by Tom Figgins, The Young ‘Uns and Blackbeard’s Tea Party. Meanwhile in marquee 2, the Local Bands Showcase has a fabulous line-up of up-and-coming East Anglian talent followed by the late night ceilidh led by the Monster Ceilidh Band into the wee small hours. Elsewhere on the festival site Red Velvet will entertain in marquee 3 followed by an open mic stage, and informal sessions are likely to be underway all around the site. Tickets for Friday are £24 (adult) and £8 (10-17 years old).
