Friday Night Local Bands Showcase

Honey  This year, we have sourced a wonderful electric line-up for the Friday Night concert in Marquee 2 – showcasing some of the best up-and-coming folk & roots-influenced music acts in East Anglia. The concert will be opened by Honey & the Bear, a roots inspired duo from Suffolk whose softly interweaving vocal harmonies and foot stomping rhythms combine elements of Folk, Americana, Country & Blues.  Dickon McCarthy from Cambridge does amazing things with a six string, including play it – combined with ranging vocals to create a full atmospheric live sound.  Alton Wahlberg [the bearded busker] – soul on a soapbox – an acoustic singer songwriter from Suffolk.  Lauren Tufnell – composer and performer, a teenager with a remarkable soulful and inspiring voice.  Mortal Tides – a very young four piece band from Great Chesterford who have just released their first album. Talented multi-instrumentalists on guitar, fiddle and keys. It promises to be a musical rollercoaster! http://elyfolkfestival.co.uk/artists/friday-night-local-bands-showcase/
