Festival set-up underway
Ely Folk Festival 2016 is taking shape on site as marquees are erected, camping spaces marked out, signs erected, dance floors laid and stages built. The ground is firm and green – ideal conditions thanks to the recent spell of dry, windy weather. Any changes to site conditions likely to affect festival visitors will be posted here and on our facebook page. The festival site will open at 13.00 on Friday. A big change this year is that construction work has started on the cinema complex near the festival site entrance. Given the additional construction traffic arising from this and to help us safely manage festival traffic entering the site and avoid it backing up onto the A10 in a dangerous fashion, please plan your journey so that you do not arrive before the festival site opens at 13.00 on Friday. If arriving by train, the complementary festival bus service will start operating between the festival site, city centre and rail station from 2pm on Friday. The bus service will operate between the festival site and city centre (and rail station on request) for the remainder of the festival weekend.
