Gregg Cave

Gregg’s interpretation of English folk songs and his own material has a refreshingly honest feel to it complemented by his very engaging stage presence. He will be performing at the Saturday afternoon concert in marquee 1.

At the age of 18 Gregg formed folk-rock band CAVE. The band toured extensively around England and enjoyed main stage billing at some of the best English folk festivals and venues. The mixture of Gregg’s songs and carefully selected traditional songs & tunes with members such as Guy Fletcher (fiddle) and Simon Care (melodeon) made for a very popular live sound. 2008 saw the release of the band’s album ‘Welcome Welcome’. CAVE still get together sporadically and reformed in 2012 to play the ATM festival in Germany.

In recent years Gregg has collaborated with musicians and storytellers and has been commissioned by the Arts Council and National Trust to produce two separate pieces of performance. 2012 saw Gregg supporting artists such as Martin Carthy, Dave Swarbrick and Chris Wood. In the autumn of 2012, Gregg embarked on a very successful tour of Germany where he was joined by fiddler Nick Ellison. For this tour the duo released the limited edition album ‘Keep The Beggars Warm’. This has been released through Gregg’s new label ‘Tweed Music’.
