Friday Night Local Bands Showcase

This year, we’ve got a cornucopia of talent performing in Marquee 2 on Friday night:

  • Honey & the Bear – are Jon Hart & Lucy Sampson, a roots inspired multi-instrumentalist, songwriting duo from Suffolk. Their softly interweaving vocal harmonies and foot stomping rhythms combine elements of Folk, Americana, Country, Blues and whatever else takes their fancy.  http://www.honeyandthebear.co.uk/
  • Dickon McCarthy – does amazing things with a six string, including play it. Combined with ranging vocals to create a full atmospheric live sound. BBC ‘Uploader of the week’, Amazing Radio ‘Unplugged Track of the Week’. From Cambridge. http://www.dickonmccarthy.com/
  • Alton Wahlberg [the bearded busker] – soul on a soapbox. An acoustic singer songwriter from Suffolk, Alton has been described as raw, punchy, soulful blend of folk and indie with an occasional R&B twist!   http://www.altonwahlberg.co.uk/
  • Lauren Tufnell – composer and performer, teenager with a remarkable soulful and inspiring voice. Performs around Ely & Cambridge. https://www.facebook.com/tufnellmusic
  • Mortal Tides – Very young four piece band (none over age of seventeen) who have just released their first album. Talented multi-instrumentaists on guitar, fiddle and keys. From Great Chesterford. https://www.facebook.com/mortaltides/
